As the local theater community awaits updates on the condition of David Compton, the esteemed Nashville stage actor who suffered cardiac arrest Wednesday, theater companies and collaborators are already lining up to help. Yesterday we passed along that Franklin's Boiler Room Theatre company donated proceeds from last night's performance of The Producers to his care.
On Thursday, Nov. 14, Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre will host a special "Actor Night" performance of its current production Seniors of the Sahara to benefit Compton, who has performed in and directed many shows at the longtime Nashville theater venue. "Show only" tickets will be $10 each (cash only), with every penny going to Compton.
Be sure to mention "Actor Night" when making your reservations.
In addition, the Barn will collect donations from those interested in giving more. For information, phone (615) 646-9977 ext. 0.
Watch this space. Given the close ties among local troupers, something tells us Chaffin won't be the last company to pitch in.
