After (ahem) tackling Vanderbilt’s football history last year, author Bill Traughber moved on to a happier topic: basketball. His new release traces the history of Commodore hoops from 1893 to the present, a much more upbeat ride than the gridiron tale. From the memorable stars like Clyde Lee and Will Perdue to the forgotten favorites like Pinky Lipscomb, it’s all there, as is the tale of Memorial Gym, the ‘Dores sneaky secret weapon, its quirky crackerbox. Traughber will have a signing at the Metro Archives in Green Hills. Be sure to ask about Pinky.
