Nordstrom, I kind of love you, but I kind of hate you. And it's not your fault.
It's not your fault that I have champagne wishes and caviar dreams, but a Cheetos-and-Diet-Coke budget (which, coincidentally, is exactly what I'm eating at my desk right now). I can't blame you for my tendency to spend more on my shoes than my car payment, or for the fact that there are 11 (yes, 11 — I counted) different pairs of grey jeans in my closet right now.
But you make it so hard to leave you.
Yes, much of what I covet within your walls is out of my price range, leaving me to dig in the junior's department in the basement, where the probability of purchasing something too short and too tight for my age is fairly high. But every once and a while, you treat me so well, that I just keep coming back for more.
And today is one of those times.
Nov. 1 marks the beginning of the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale for Women and Kids. As one of Nordies' few sales events, this shopapalooza offers a huge selection of brands and styles — many of which purchased specifically for this sale — at super marked-down prices. We're talking up to half-off people, which — as any good little shopper knows — means you can buy twice as much.
I'm sure the kids' department sale is really interesting, but let's focus on the women's brands, which include Cole Haan, Diane von Furstenberg, Eileen Fisher, Free People, Haute Hippie, Hudson, Kate Spade New York, Nike, Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, Stuart Weitzman, Trina Turk and Tory Burch, among others.
As with all things in life, the good stuff goes fast, so hightail it over to the Mall at Green Hills and do some damage now, or you'll be left to feast on the scraps. Which will probably be pretty good scraps, for what it's worth. Oh, and if you like to shop from the comfort of your couch, the sale is online, and Nordstrom offers free shipping and returns. How's that for going above and beyond in a relationship?
So, Nordies, xoxo. I will always love you.
