Brent Stewart's studio is a 150-square-foot space with a single window and newly varnished floors. It smells like new paint and patchouli, and the walls are bare and clean. The work he's planning for an upcoming show at Zeitgeist is based around dance and movement, but with a minimalist edge. Since his space — and his work — is so sparse, there's a monastic quality to being there, surrounded by esoteric relics that seem like they could be clues to some science-fiction mystery.
