Michael Chabon (Oct. 2) and Emma Donoghue (November) are two of the Country Life favorites listed on Parnassus Books' calendar for the Salon series, which partners with Parnassus for readings, author talks and signings. Just a few of the guests lined up for the coming months: Molly Ringwald (Sept. 18), Inman Majors (Sept. 19), an Edith Wharton panel featuring Jennie Fields and Irene Goldman-Price (Sept. 20), Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy (Oct. 1), Louise Erdrich (Oct. 9), Dennis Lehane (Oct. 23), Mem Fox (Nov. 5), Jon Meacham (Nov. 13) and Barbara Kingsolver (Nov. 27).
Next up is Little Bee author Chris Cleave, who'll read from his new novel Gold July 24 at the downtown Nashville Public Library. In the meantime, check out this tantalizing book preview of the second half of 2012 on the literary website The Millions, which has the lowdown on several of the books and authors you'll see at Salon@615 throughout the fall. (We understand there's also a major visiting-author announcement coming up early next week. Stay tuned.)
