Though technically a few days early, you can celebrate Mardi Gras right here in Nashville at Riverfront Park this Saturday from noon until 10 p.m. The "Mardi Gras Y'all" festival will have live musical performances throughout the day from Kansas Bible Company (these guys are great, by the way), Black Diamond (this guy is, too), Gil Gann along with many others. There will also be entertainment from jugglers, magicians, fire spinners, drag queens, dancers, comedians, and a late-night performance by Music City Burlesque.

But the real star of the show — as far as I’m concerned, that is — is the food truck court. Fifteen of Nashville’s food trucks will be on hand serving up special Mardi Gras menus (in addition to some of their year-round favorites). I’ve also been told that Saturday will be the premiere event for Nashville’s newest food truck, Riffs Fine Sweet Food, a collaboration between Riffs pastry queen Audra Dykes and Slow Hand Coffee.

Check out nine of the special menu items available for the event:

Delta Bound: “Taste of Cajun Country” sampler — crawfish étouffée en croute, deep-fried boudin balls with Creole mustard aioli, Creole chicken and cheesy grits, and king cake brioche

Grilled Cheeserie: Muffuletta melt (aged provolone, salami, olive salad, Yazoo Sue mustard on benne seed sourdough) and chicory-coffee pudding cup (layers of Café du Monde coffee pudding, Olive and Sinclair chocolate ganache, and bourbon whipped cream)

Hoss' Loaded Burgers: Big Easy burger (stuffed with provolone, topped with Cajun spices, creole rémoulade, and red onion)

Itty Bitty Donuts: King Cake Donut Sundae (dozen donuts with icing & sugars)

Jonbalaya: Jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp po’boy, tilapia Bayou burrito, red beans and rice, shrimp and popcorn, shrimp and grits, bacon macaroni-and-cheese, king cakes

Music City Pie Company: Cajun Pie (get it "topped off" with smashed potatoes, Creole gravy and pepper-jack cheese), apple bourbon pie with caramel sauce, and vanilla custard pie with bananas foster topping

Riffs Sweet Truck: Orange bourbon king cake and king cake lattes

Smokin’ Thighs:
Applewood-smoked Cajun dry rub wings and Cajun bacon macaroni-and-cheese

Yayo's OMG: OMG Cajun shrimp tacos, and Mexican beignets (drizzled with a chocolate caramel bourbon sauce & dusted with powdered sugar)

Other food trucks serving at the festival will be Bacon Nation, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Retro Sno, Riffs Fine Street Food, Smoothie King, Sum Yum Yum and Two Guys in a Lunchbox.
