Flour. Sugar. Eggs. started up earlier this year as the wholesale pastry business of Gina Olds, who's been supplying her baked goods to local coffee shops including Ugly Mugs, Eighth and Roast, Garage Coffee, and Nordstrom's eBar in the Mall at Green Hills. The Germantown shop is the first retail operation of her business.
Along with cookies, croissants, scones, danish and muffins, the menu includes quiches and tarts, plus sandwiches, salads and soups (seasonally). Also available is Garage Coffee Company coffee as well as soft drinks and juice. Baked goods start at $1.25 for cookies and go up to $3.50 for croissants, while quiche portions are $4 and salads and sandwiches are between $5 and $6. The salad and sandwich menu should be posted on the website soon, but includes turkey, roast beef, BLT with cheese, and caprese sandwiches and Greek and Cobb salads.
I stopped in for a pecan scone, and just a short chat resulted in a line behind me (sorry, folks), so it seems the neighborhood is welcoming the new bakery enthusiastically. And they won't be disappointed; my pecan scone was excellent (crumbly without being dry and possessing just a touch of sweetness from the sugared top). Alexandra of Sweet Betweens has tried the croissants previously over at Eighth and Roast and reports that they're fantastic (and she's a pretty good judge of baked goods).
