It doesn't take much to get Nashvillians excited about some hot chicken, but in general most locals eschew wearing cut-off jean shorts. Usually seeing someone downtown wearing so-called jorts (or a cowboy hat) is a pretty good indication that you're in the presence of a tourist. Or a Chicago Blackhawks fan. But at least once a year, Mark Dunkerly, the brains behind Jubilee Beer encourages Nashvillians to wriggle into their Daisy Dukes and join him down at the Paradise Park Trailer Resort on Lower Broadway for some tomfoolery and fiery fowl.

Hot Chicken and Jorts is a benefit for Oasis Center, which is also the beneficiary of a portion of all Jubilee Beer profits. Dunkerly pulls out his mulleted alter ego Randy to lead the festivities, which this year will include tater tot eating and Spam/Velveeta stacking contests. Just $20 gains you access to all the fun and free hot chicken at Paradise Park starting at 4 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 10.

Randy is hosting a "selfie" contest on the event's Facebook page for a chance to win tickets, so if you think you can beat Randy's self-portrait, whip out that cellphone and click away. Don't feel like you have to share it here though ...
