New Beer Pub, Hops & Crafts, Opens in the Gulch

A new little bar specializing in craft brews launched quietly a couple weeks ago in the Gulch. It’s called Hops & Crafts, and it takes over the space formerly held by Sweet CeCe’s frozen yogurt shop.

Hops & Crafts has 36 different brews on tap, serving beer by the familiar pint glass, or in samplers of six smaller pours. You can also get growlers (64 ounces) and half-growlers (32 ounces) filled from the tap (to go only).

Owners Alex Cohn, Danny Charles and Kreigh Bourff are all residents of the Gulch. With backgrounds in accounting and sales, they decided to apply their business knowledge to creating the kind of hangout they’d like to have in the neighborhood.

Cohn said the taps will rotate, but there will always be 12 to 15 local beers. He'll also be offering sandwiches and snacks supplied by chef Zack Maddox at Coffee, Lunch.

The Hops & Crafts team plans to have a lot of daily events. Tonight will be the first Monday trivia night, starting at 7 p.m. Tuesdays are Dog Days, when folks are encouraged to bring their pups to the patio. On Wednesdays, it's Pint Night (look for Schlafly to be featured this week).

Hops & Crafts is located at 319 12th Ave. S., the phone number is 456-8797. Hours are currently 11 a.m. to 11 p.m daily.
