Riffs Fine Street Food to Kick Off New Supper Club at Second Harvest



It seems like you can't swing a bag of heirloom tomatoes without hitting a new supper club in town, but when Riffs is involved, I sit up and take notice. So when I heard that BJ Lofback will be launching "Riffs Supper Jam" on Saturday, July 13, in cooperation with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, I immediately pulled out my calendar.

The monthly supper club will include Lofback and a guest chef every month; they will collaborate to create a multicourse dinner. Tickets are $65 per person, or $85 per person with cocktail pairings, with seatings at 5 and 8 p.m. Tickets must be reserved in advance, and are available at here.

Twenty percent of proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. If you've ever spent any time watching Lofback cook, you'll be excited to hear that every table will be the equivalent of a chef's table, since each dinner will feature an open kitchen concept, offering attendees the opportunity to interact with the chefs and participate in the meal experience. The first guest culinary team will be a treat for many Bites readers who rave about Brentwood's best Asian food. Here's the announcement:

The culinary team from Soy Bistro will partner with Lofback for the inaugural July 13 event. Located in Brentwood, Soy Bistro is an Asian fusion restaurant that prepares traditional cuisine with an accent of unique culinary perspective. Hanna Lee was born in Korea and raised in America, which gave her the chance to develop a diverse palate. Partner Chris Lee is focused on the service aspect, and loves to interact with people. The team has built a community in the Nashville area by cooking what they love and loving the people they serve.

“I have to say, I can think of no better team to kick off this concept with than Chris and Hanna from Soy Bistro,” said Lofback. “They’re amazing, genuine people. Part of the Soy experience is not only getting undeniably amazing food, but also feeling at home when you’re around the staff. They’re dedicated to creating Korean food that is all at once traditional, adventurous and approachable. If you don’t know Soy, this will be a wonderful way to get to know their talent.”

The dinners will be hosted at Second Harvest's facility in Metro Center, so start looking for a sitter!
