The owners of Village Pub are planning to open an intriguing new place called The Hop Stop, which will offer food, beer and growler refills to go in a spot on Gallatin Pike in East Nashville. Meanwhile, the owners of The Filling Station, a growler-filling station next to Edley's Bar-B-Que in 12South, are planning to open a second Filling Station next to the second Edley's location they are working to open on Main Street in East Nashville this spring.

Jesse Hamilton, who owns the Village Pub and The Hop Stop with his wife Tracy and kitchen manager Jim Latham, said The Hop Stop will have 36 American craft beers on tap. It will have a relaxed pub atmosphere, including darts.

There aren’t many details yet on the menu, but Hamilton said it will differ from what they serve at Village Pub. The Hop Stop, to be located at 2909B Gallatin Pike in the former Red Dog Scooters building, is gearing up to open in late spring.

The Filling Station has been a hit in 12South, filling growlers and half-growlers with a rotating lineup of local beers and other craft brews, since it opened in November.

The new outpost is joining the second Edley's in the redeveloped former Fluffo warehouse at Ninth and Main streets in East Nashville. (Ben Bredesen's Fat Bottom Brewery is already esconced there.)

Chris Chamberlain has been keeping us apprised of a growler-filling boom in town, including Craft Brewed Bottle Shop and Tasting Parlor on Franklin Pike and Kay Bob's Grill & Ale in Hillsboro Village.
