Earlier this month we learned that restaurateur Chris Lowry sold Germantown East, the dining spot in the Fifth and Main condominium in East Nashville.
(Lowry's original restaurant, Germantown Café, remains vital, reopening two weeks ago after a brief renovation with a newly promoted chef. Jeff Martin took over the kitchen after the accidental death of Germantown's co-owner, Jay Luther.)
The restaurateur who bought Germantown East is Emmanuel “Manny” Hatz, a resident of the building and a veteran of the software industry who now owns Jet’s Pizza locations in the greater Nashville area, as well as Shipwreck Cove, a restaurant at Elm Hill Marina.
At the time of the sale, Hatz said he was planning to reopen the restaurant as a new concept in October, with the name, menu and other salient details to be announced later.
Today a building permit revealed a name for the restaurant: Feast. A spokeswoman for Hatz told me that Feast remains a tentative name, and she promised more details soon. We'll keep you posted.
