Dan's mac-and-cheese is now available at four different farmers markets and in their first grocery location at Produce Place on Murphy Road. He also exhibited at the big Fancy Food Show in Washington, D.C., last summer, where the products made quite a splash. Look for both production and distribution to expand during the latter half of this year.
Other folks have been taking notice of Stephenson as he was nominated by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as one of their "Top 30 Under 30" individuals in Nashville. Now certainly, this is a fundraiser for this worthy cause, but they do choose honorees who "exemplify leadership qualities, are active in volunteer roles and have excelled in the business community. Those selected are among the most prominent, influential and successful."
Dan fits the bill on all accounts and wants to involve Nashville mac-and-cheese aficionados in his campaign to raise funds for CFF. His event will be held this Thursday, Sept. 13, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on the pool deck at Terrazzo in the Gulch. He is calling the evening "Mac-ing in the Moonlite." Optional $20 suggested donations will be accepted at the door to benefit CFF, and all attendees will be treated to food, drink and entertainment all night long. Well, at least until 9, but that's all night when you're my age. Help out a great cause and raise your cholesterol a little bit.
