Cheese, Marvelous Cheese! Two Festivals on the Horizon

Kathleen Cotter continues to be the big cheese among mongers in town, especially since she moved her shop, The Bloomy Rind, in with the master meatsters at Porter Road Butcher. Cotter not only sells a lot of cheese, but she is passionate about educating consumers about artisan products and introducing them to the craftsmen that sell to her.

Her second annual Southern Artisan Cheese Festival will be held 3:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Nashville Farmers' Market. Cotter has invited more than 20 regional cheesemakers and another 20 or so regional food artisans. She expects to sell out quickly and has capped attendance at 1,000 this year to allow time and space for attendees to interact with the exhibitors. For more information, check out the official festival website. You can purchase your tickets here.
