Crawl Around East Nashville With PourTaste

Jon Yeager is a busy man. In addition to his bartending and consulting gigs and his new iPhone app, he also creates the cocktails for some of Vivek Surti's epic dinners at the Grow Local Kitchen at the Nashville Farmers' Market.

But clearly, dude still has some time on his hands, as he is now planning the inaugural East Nashville Cocktail Crawl on Sunday, Sept. 30. Freshly returned from last week's Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, Yeager is full of new ideas and cocktail connections. (And hopefully some Advil.)

Plymouth Gin and the new Knob Creek Rye, which hasn't even been released yet in Nashville, will be sponsors, and every bar on the crawl will feature cocktails with these ingredients. I got to take a sneak taste of the Knob Creek in New Orleans, and it is gonna be something special. In addition to creative cocktails at the venues, attendees will have access to a tasting room where spirits representatives will showcase their wares.

Here are more of the details:

Check In/ Check Out

Bongo Java Roasting Co., located in the heart of Five Points, will be the official check in/ check out spot for the East Nashville Cocktail Crawl. Those who have purchased a VIP ticket can arrive as early as 5:30 to show their ID (must be 21 and up) and receive his or her passport. Those with a general admission ticket may begin arriving at 6:30. Also included at Bongo Java will be booths from Yelp, DrinkMusicCity and PourTaste and the option to register for prizes at the end of the Crawl.

*Attendees will have the option of finding their own transportation but are encouraged to use the shuttle system provided by Grand Avenue. This shuttle system will have specific routes, with stops every 20 minutes. Attendees have the freedom to come and go, at each venue, as they please. An official East Nashville Cocktail Crawl Host will be on hand at each venue alerting attendees of arrivals and departures.

The participating venues are No. 308, Pomodoro East, Holland House, Watanabe, Rumours East, Bongo Java and The Building, an artist collective. If you visit all the sites, you can enter a Passport Contest sponsored by Yelp to win a grand prize of $150 or one of 10 PourTaste Home Mixology Kits, including a set of shakers, mixing glass, bar spoon, Hawthorne strainer, a set of bitters and other essentials.

Tickets went on sale this week and are available at the event website. I would certainly suggest availing yourself of that free shuttle.
