With our nation's independence being celebrated this week, why not also celebrate the fact that people from all over the world want to come to America and eat stuff?
The other day I stumbled across this video from a Korean TV show I've never seen before. In it, two borderline-obnoxious Korean guys travel to Nashville and attempt to sample some of our most famous foods, while interrupting people who are trying to answer their questions, selectively forgetting how to ask those questions in English and generally cracking themselves up. (And thanks to some really juvenile post-production, there are also lots of fart noises. At least I think that's post-production.) The scene at the end where they start handing out chicken dipped in gochujang — where are they? A trailer park? — and dancing with passersby is just surreal. And by that I mean it's great television.
What about you, Bitesters? What famous foods would you recommend to intercontinental travelers who are prone to giggling? What Nashville food would you hand out to strangers while sad music played? What food would you fly 17 hours just to have tasted? The open thread is open — speak your mind and leave the fart-sound dubbing to us!
