We all want to eat healthier, but sometimes it just doesn't seem to be worth the time or the expense involved. Especially when there are so many dining options, both healthy and decadent, out there within driving distance. Between CSAs and the many farmers' markets and healthy food stores around town, accessibility to healthy cooking ingredients is hardly an excuse.

But if you don't know what to do with that mountain of kale and beets in your CSA basket, you'll end up with a lot of compost. Luckily, The Turnip Truck Urban Fare, located at 321 12th Ave. S. in the Gulch wants to help. Prepared foods manager Molly Martin will share some good ideas at 6 p.m. this Thursday, May 10, in a free class called "Healthy Meal Planning on a Budget."

Not only is the class free, but all participants will receive a 10 percent discount on groceries purchased at the time of the class, as well as a $5 gift card toward grocery purchases during a return visit. They'll also be drawing a name to win a $100 gift card, so wear your lucky pants!

But plan ahead; advance registration is required and space is limited. Contact Kathryn
Johnson at kathryn@theturniptruck.com to register or for more information. Alternately, our friends at Yelp Nashville have some more info and have set aside some spots if you want to register through them here.

Well, there goes your last excuse.
