Kay Bob's Throws a Grand Opening Party Tomorrow Night

Kay Bob's, the creative kebab joint next to Pizza Perfect in Hillsboro Village, quietly opened earlier this month, and now they're ready to officially launch with a party — and you're all invited.

As I reported back in June, Kay Bob's is the brainchild of Amir Arab, who along with his brother Ali, owns the Pizza Perfect locations in Hillsboro Village and Bellevue. Amir is a native of Iran who's lived here for decades, and he describes Kay Bob's as "kebab sandwiches with a Southern twist."

Kay Bob's plays up the healthy aspect of Middle Eastern cuisine, with fresh vegetables and meats grilled simply on a skewer, served on flatbread that's baked in house, with your choice of signature sauces. Ingredients are minimally processed and locally sourced whenever possible.

Already one breakout star on the menu is a vegetarian sandwich, the Dancin' Desiree, with black beans, goat cheese, roasted red pepper, caramelized onions and butternut squash puree, folded into flatbread and toasted.

Kay Bob's is co-owned and managed by Pizza Perfect veteran Andrew Tarpley. The grand opening party is 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the restaurant at 1602 21st Ave. S. (The phone number is 321-4567). Check out a menu at Kay Bob's Facebook page, and read the grand opening invitation after the jump.

Join us Thursday, December 1st from 6-9pm for the grand opening of Kay Bob’s as we bring a bit of country living to Hillsboro Village. Come be entertained by lively music, relax while drinking hot chocolate or sipping one of the 6 beers on draft, and sample the fresh flatbreads, scrumptious meats and delicious sauces.

We are also excited to be participating in the Hillsboro Village Art Walk and will be featuring the bright paintings of local artist Andee Rudloff. As part of the Art Walk we will be raffling off an IPod Touch as well as gift certificates at 8:00pm. Come enter to win!

Finally, we are sponsoring a food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. For the grand opening through January 1st, 2012, customers can bring in 2 cans for donation and they will receive $2 off their food purchase.

Kay Bob’s features locally produced, ground beef (no hormones or antibiotics) and all-natural chicken. Nearly all menu items are produced in our own kitchen by a staff dedicated to healthy and tasty eating. From hand-cut fries and oven-baked flatbread to our house sauces and sides, Kay Bob’s is committed to using only the freshest, minimally processed ingredients we can find.
