Chuy's Sets Opening Date for Midtown Outpost

It seems like only yesterday that the lot at the corner of 19th and Broadway was a hole in the ground. And it seemed that way for a a lot of days before yesterday as destruction came about quickly for the building that once housed Cantrell's, but reconstruction was a little bit slower getting started.

But in a development that the owners of Lake Palmer could learn something from, once the lumber was finally delivered, Chuy's Restaurant fairly flew up.

On the heels of the opening of Chipotle right down the street, Midtown diners will now have another option to get their burrito on. Chuy's plans to open on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Patrons can look forward to the Tex-Mex fare that has kept the crowds coming to their other Middle Tennessee locations in Cool Springs and Murfreesboro. Plan on enjoying their excellent happy hour Monday-Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. with beer and margarita specials and a free nacho bar.

Perhaps in reverence to the erstwhile music venue where many of us Nashvillians wasted away our youth or to the long-forgotten Elvis-a-Rama which was once located just around the corner, Chuy's will construct one of their ubiquitous shrines to the King inside the restaurant. Maybe it's not the "Elvis's Life Through Music and Murals" we remember. But for free nachos and cheap margaritas, we'll settle for a substitute.
