Brian Hainley has won the hot contest to take over the restaurant space at Belle Meade Plantation, beating out several names popular in local dining circles. Hainley, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., will launch Belle in the next two months.
An Indiana native, Hainley grew up in the restaurant business and has worked at Aubergine in Newport Beach, Ca., and owned his own restaurant in Pinehurst, N.C. In Nashville, he worked at Wild Boar and at Sandy's Downtown Grille in Franklin.
At Belle, he will deliver a roaster of Southern cuisine, focusing on seasonal foods and drawing from the gardens at the plantation. Hainley is currently freshening up the space with new paint and carpet and new kitchen equipment, and he plans to open in a month or so.
Belle will originally serve weekday lunch and weekend brunch and will ultimately introduce dinner Thursday through Saturday.
