Family Wash lands on TV 'Crossroads'

The venerable East Nashville bar, cafe and music joint The Family Wash will be celebrated this week on an episode of WNPT-Channel 8's show Tennessee Crossroads. Here's what the NPT folks say in a release:This week on Tennessee Crossroads on NPT, production assistant Erin McInnis heads to The Family Wash in East Nashville to find out what keeps drawing people back to the place affectionately known as "The Wash." Also on the show this week, Tressa Bush visits the White County Heritage Museum in Sparta, a museum focused on preserving, and sharing, local history; Susan Watson takes us for a ride on the Ocoee River in East Tennessee, then shows us why a "yurt" is helpful at the end of the day; Ken Wilshire spends the day with the Artisan Company’s Connie Shaw, a Franklin woman who assists others in finding their past through the use of her hands and some beautiful works of art.The episode airs Thursday, May 27, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 30, at 10 a.m.
