Black Dahlia Murder w/Skeletonwitch, Toxic Holocaust & Trap Them at RCKTWN

Death Comes to Rocketown

Rocketown pays homage to the power of the almighty thrash gods on Tuesday night with each of the four bands on the bill interpreting punk and metal's cross-section differently. Headliners Black Dahlia Murder's metalcore leans a little too Hot Topic at moments, while openers Trap Them come closest to punk rock's sparsity, but the main course is sandwiched in between. Toxic Holocaust stray the least from the Big Four of the ’80s (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax), absorbing all the nuances of that decade's underground as they slap another helping of grit and grime across the top. Skeletonwitch take the style to a much darker place, and the recently released Breathing the Fire adds new terrain to their fantastic debut.
