A lot of terrific CSAs have popped up over the past several years, providing Nashvillians with more fresh produce than we could have dreamed of a decade ago. But if, like me, your cooking schedule is erratic, a seasonal share is too much of a commitment. At Green Door Gourmet, you can order a “Best of the Farm” box of produce (available in $20 or $40 sizes) on any given week with no full-season commitment. If you don’t feel like driving out to the farm (which is on River Road, only 10 minutes from downtown), there’s a Friday pickup option in Edgehill Village. But if you do head to the farm, it’s a pretty place to visit, and the store stocks scores of local artisan foods. As for the CSA boxes, the quality and variety are always top-notch.
