Annotations: Ann Shayne

When: Wed., June 12 2013

Some day Ann Shayne, the knitting wit who makes up half of the Mason-Dixon Knitting duo at the center of a nationwide online community, will cash in and write the bondage-porn crochet novel we know she has in her. (We suggest trademarking the title Fifty Skeins of Grey.) Her current novel Bowling Avenue, however, is as painless as reading gets: a breezy romp about a former Nashvillian beset by a parade of visitors whose real-life counterparts should be no strangers to folks along the West End-Harding Pike axis. She’s the first guest of Cheekwood’s summer-long Annotations series, which invites local authors to deliver in-person footnotes to their work the second Wednesday night of each month. Consider it a golden introduction to one of the city’s most pleasant spaces, the Sigourney Cheek Literary Garden. Free with park admission.
