As TV Guide's 60th-anniversary year comes to a close, the venerable publication has chosen its Top 60 shows of all time. The complete list is available in the current issue, which also contains their "Cheers and Jeers" for 2013 (see above) and their picks for the year's finest programs — but it's the Top 10 of all time that's bound to start some water-cooler debates.
Their choices for the Top 10 best TV shows ever, in order:
The Sopranos, Seinfeld, I Love Lucy, All In The Family, The Twilight Zone, The Wire, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, M.A.S.H., Breaking Bad, The Simpsons.
We agree on eight of 10, though we disagree on both one and two. Star Trek (No. 12 on their list) would be in my Top 10, as would The Andy Griffith Show (15th). All In The Family would be my No. 1 in a very close race with The Twilight Zone, The Wire and Breaking Bad. The two that would be out, at least of the Top 10, would be Seinfeld and The Simpsons.
Anyone care to disagree?
