This weekend's New York Times Style section ran an article on Tavi Gevinson, the founder of Rookie magazine and my No. 1 girl crush. On Monday, Los Angeles Magazine ran an interview with her. And she's on the cover of this month's Bust. She's basically everywhere.
But on the recent Rookie Road Trip that she and her friends made, Nashville was sadly, glaringly, tragically omitted. But there's hope! A group of awesome Nashville-based teenaged ladies have organized a meetup of their own, to be held at Dragon Park this Saturday. If making crafts and going shopping with smart feminist teenagers sounds as awesome to you as it does to me, you're going to need to clear some space on your calendar. More details on the Facebook event page they've organized.
And just for good measure, I'm including "Beware of Young Girls," the new short film from Wren that features Tavi singing, playing guitar, and looking like a bored Nancy Sinatra in a bunch of fancy dresses. Sigh!
