The other news that City Winery just released is the venue's initial music lineup, as reported by our colleagues at Nashville Cream. It's a pretty substantial roster, including the fact that City Winery will be one of the venues hosting the Americana Music Association Festival in September.
We don't know much yet about the food and wine, but you can check out menus for the Chicago location here. The dining page on the City Winery Nashville site currently indicates they are looking for "a head chef and staff" and they request résumés be sent to email@example.com. City Winery will be at 609 Lafayette St., situated just a couple blocks from both Jack White's Third Man Records and our new tourism behemoth, the Music City Center.
As for the music, I as a foodie am especially intrigued by the AmericanaFest's Thirty Tigers Gospel Brunch on Sept. 21, hosted by Elizabeth Cook, featuring The McCrary Sisters, The Fairfield Four and other special guests. Other AmericanaFest performers coming to City Winery Sept. 17-21 include Sturgill Simpson, Rodney Crowell, Robyn Hitchcock, Sarah Jarosz and Cory Chisel's Soul Obscura.
Then on Sept. 26, City Winery will host an "Intimate Evening" with the two Bobby Bares (père et fils). In October, look for appearances by folks ranging from Ralph Stanley to Sandra Bernhard, Macy Gray and Leo Kottke.
November artists coming to the winery include Sinéad O'Connor on her "I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss" tour, and the venerable Dave Davies of The Kinks.
