Zagat Is Excited About Impending Opening of Prima

On the heels of the successful opening of her new 12South bistro, Josephine, Nashville restaurateur Miranda Whitcomb Pontes is already hard at work planning for the opening of her next project. As Dana Kopp Franklin reported last year, Prima will be located in the ground floor of the Terrazo building, and the kitchen will be helmed by Chef Sal Avila.

Gulch fans are already salivating thinking about Avila's take on veggie-centric "farm-defined" fare, and national press has started to take notice. Zagat, the venerable Google-owned restaurant guide out of New York City, has included Prima in their list of "25 Most Anticipated Openings of 2014," joining a roster of Top Chef, Iron Chef and Chopped contestants, plus two famous Josés, Andrés and Garces.

The opening date for Prima is still up in the air, but since it's so close to the Scene offices, I'm sure we'll be peeking in the windows frequently.
