Edley’s, the popular barbecue joint in the 12South neighborhood, has opened its second location, staking out a space in the redeveloped Fluffo mattress building at Ninth and Main streets in East Nashville. It officially opened its doors Wednesday.

The original Edley’s, owned by entrepreneurs Will and Catharine Newman and restaurant veteran Bret Tuck, launched in 2011 and quickly drew in a loyal cohort of customers with its menu of sandwiches and platters featuring smoked pork, turkey, chicken and brisket, and fried shrimp and catfish. (Especially fervent are the fans of the Tuck’s Special, a brisket sandwich topped with house-made spicy pimento cheese and a fried egg.)

The new Edley’s joins existing tenant Fat Bottom Brewing in the former Fluffo site. Like the original Edley’s, the new branch has a patio for enjoying ’cue and brews in the open air. The menu is also similar. Currently the new Edley’s serves beer only, with 18 craft beers on tap. The team hopes to secure a license to start serving liquor soon.

Edley’s Bar-B-Que East is at 908 Main St. Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; the bar stays open later.Edley’s, the popular barbecue joint in the 12South neighborhood, has opened its second location, staking out a space in the redeveloped Fluffo mattress building at Ninth and Main streets in East Nashville.
