One of Bites' favorite food events of the year, Generous Helpings, is coming up May 17 at the Nashville Farmers' Market, with a lineup of the city's most beloved restaurants, and a terrific beneficiary, Middle Tennessee's Table, which rescues prepared foods and perishables for Second Harvest Food Bank.
The Generous Helpings formula clinches the deal for me: Try all the restaurants you rarely get to visit, in a low-pressure setting, when they're bringing out their best dishes and happy to chat about them.
The lineup this year includes new participants Sloco Sammies, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Kohana (opening soon in Green Hills, already open in Hendersonville and Clarksville), McConnell House in Franklin, The Turnip Truck and Riff's Fine Street Food.
Eager to go? Good — tickets are only $40 in advance ($50) at the door.
But you know Bites will always try to hook you up with free tickets. It's Generous Helpings, so we're going in the opposite direction with tiny food. Best/cleverest/most insightful caption wins two tickets to Generous Helpings, May 17.
And go! Best of luck to all.
