Food Network Show 'Heat Seekers' Filming at the Scoreboard Bar and Grill Today

Do you like hot chicken? Are you a fan of the Food Network? Would you like to be on television? I'd guess a Venn diagram of the intersection of these three sets would pretty much incorporate the Bites reading audience. So if you'd like to help fill out a studio audience and fill up your tummy at the same time, try to make your way out to Scoreboard Bar and Grill at 2408 Music Valley Drive across from the lights of the Gaylord Opryland resort.

"Heat Seekers" is a show hosted by celebrity chefs Aaron Sanchez and Roger Mooking which follows them around the country as they seek out the spiciest food they can find. While I'm sure that there are many hot chicken connoisseurs who would point Messrs. Sanchez and Mooking toward some other local establishments to try the hottest of the hot, Scoreboard is renowned for making some darned fiery poultry on their own.

Their "Satan's Tongue" heat level is quite ... er ... challenging and compares favorably to the best of Prince's and Bolton's, if possibly not quite as scalding. I don't know for sure why Food Network chose Scoreboard over those other establishments for their filming, but from a purely cinematographic standpoint it is certainly an easier space to film in.

If you'd like to be part of the studio audience, there will be two sessions of filming today. One will run from noon until 2 p.m., and an evening session will start at 5 p.m. and supposedly complete at 7:30. A caveat though. As some of us learned during Guy Fieri's visit to Savarino's, television crews are rarely in a hurry so all times are approximate. Bring along a basket full of patience and have fun!
