Williams-Sonoma in Cool Springs is taking part in a new national program called the Williams-Sonoma Cookbook Club. Taught by culinary professionals, the monthly classes provide cooking tips and techniques as well as a sampling of some of the featured cookbook’s best recipes in a three-course tasting menu — prepared while you watch. The book is included in the cost of the class, so it’s yours to take home and enjoy.

• Class cost of $75 includes the featured cookbook and a 10 percent discount off your entire purchase after the class.

• Space is limited and reservations are required.

April's event will be held on Wednesday, April 27, and features Williams-Sonoma Breakfast Comforts cookbook.

Featured Recipes and Tasting Menu:
• Fruit Smoothie
• Fontina, Leek and Mushroom Braid
• New Orleans-Style BBQ Shrimp and Grits
• Eggs Blackstone with Roasted Tomatoes
• Whole Wheat Pancakes with Strawberry—Rhubarb Compote

If your calendar goes out to May, then mark May 25 down for meals from actress Eva Longoria's book Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family & Friends. She shares favorite family recipes, highlighting the essentials of great Mexican cooking, Texas style. I don't know how good of a cook she is, but she's got to be a better actress than Rachael Ray on the kitchen set.

Featured Recipes and Tasting Menu:
• Pico de Gallo, Chunky Guacamole and Tortilla Chips
• Mexican Caprese
• Aunt Didi’s Carne Guisada served with Mexican Rice, Refried Beans and Flour Tortillas
• Beso’s Churros served with Vanilla Ice Cream and Dulce de Leche

For a visit with someone who I know can definitely cook, head to Williams-Sonoma's Green Hills store on Thursday, March 31, where Chef Sam Beall will be signing copies of his new cookbook, The Blackberry Farm Cookbook. Chef Beall is known for his passionate approach to gourmet food and is greatly respected in the chef community. He'll be signing copies of his book starting at noon. He'll only sign books purchased at that location, so if you get one in advance, save your receipt.
